ABA Assessment
Process for Children
Our compassionate assessment process is the first step on our journey together. It's designed to see the whole child—their strengths, passions, and needs—so we can create a truly personalized and effective care plan.
Our Philosophy: Beyond the Checklist
More Than an Evaluation, It's a Discovery
Our assessment is not just about identifying deficits. We see it as a collaborative process to discover what makes your child light up. By understanding their unique passions and strengths from day one, we can build a therapy plan that is not only effective but also deeply engaging and joyful.
Our Three-Step Assessment Journey
The Initial Conversation
It all begins with a friendly, no-pressure call. We listen to your story, understand your goals, and answer all of your initial questions about how we can help your family.
Naturalistic Observation
Our BCBA spends quality time with your child in a comfortable setting to observe their skills, communication style, and unique interests in a real-world, playful environment.
Collaborative Planning
We meet with you to review our findings and listen to your invaluable insights. Together, we set meaningful, family-centered goals that form the foundation of your child's care plan.
The Tools of Our Trade
Evidence-Based & Child-Focused
To ensure the highest standard of care, we use industry-leading, evidence-based assessment tools. This allows us to gather objective data to create a precise and effective plan. However, these tools are always used in a playful, respectful way that feels like a natural part of getting to know your child.
Your Assessment Questions, Answered
The entire assessment process, from the initial call to the final care plan presentation, typically takes about 1-2 weeks. We prioritize efficiency to ensure your child can begin receiving support as soon as possible, without ever compromising the quality and thoroughness of our evaluation.
Absolutely not. Our assessments are designed to be low-stress and play-based. Our BCBAs are experts at building rapport and making the observation feel like a natural playdate. We conduct the assessment in a familiar environment and follow your child's lead to ensure they feel comfortable, safe, and happy throughout the process.
